No Measuring Finger Likin’ Good Baby Back Ribs

Wednesday, July 30th, 2008

Ok here’s an easy recipe for you. Just be aware you’ll need 3 to 3 1/2 hours of cooking time.

Baby Back Ribs

As many as the shallow baking dish will hold. I use a 16×11 sheet pan and I cut the slabs in half placed meat side up.

Apple juice

I use a small juice box 6 ounces or so. Pour over ribs.

Beer

Any bottle of beer except a dark beer like Guinness, too bitter. Pour over ribs.

Salt and Pepper

Your favorite grill seasoning rub

I like mine spicy. If you’re not sure what to use check your supermarket’s spice isle.

Red Pepper Flakes

I add extra on my slab, hehe.

Garlic Pepper and/or chopped cloves of garlic

Your choice here. How many cloves you asked? Remember this is a “No Measuring” recipe.

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.

Cover ribs with aluminun foil, you’ll need 2 sheets if you are using a 16×11 pan (combine 2 sheets of aluminum foil using the long side and fold over to create a seam). Crimp edges to the sides of the pan so steam doesn’t escape. Cook for 3 to 3 1/2 hours depending on your oven. I cook mine for 3 hours. Ribs are done when the meat is pulled back from the bone.

Caution: Remove the baking pan from the oven slowly and keep it level otherwise the juices in the pan will spill!!!! Gently remove the foil don’t burn yourself from the escaping steam.

Just before serving I like to place the ribs on a clean shallow baking sheet, bone side up, and place them in the broiler for a few minutes just until the bone side gets slighlty crusty. You can also do this on an outdoor grill.

Slop some of your favorite BBQ sauce and serve. I hope you made enough they’re that good!!!
